The Scatterbrained Homeschooler

This is the place for me to gather my thoughts because I am constantly calling myself a scatterbrain. If I were a super hero, I’d be Captain Chaos. I feel like I’m being pulled in every direction and just can’t focus. If you feel the same, or even if you have it all together, I hope you’ll come along on this journey with me.

I’ve been homeschooling my two boys for three years now. They are now in 8th and 5th grades. When I began homeschooling I read everything I could get my hands on; every blog, every curriculum review, every homeschool Facebook group. With all that information at my fingertips, it didn’t take long for it to become overwhelming.

I only have two boys and yet I still feel overwhelmed at times. It’s not as if I’m trying to teach a large family of children from ages birth to high school like some homeschoolers. It’s just a 13 year old and a 10 year old, yet I feel completely scatterbrained at times. I feel like other homeschool moms have it all together and I’m lacking something.

The reality is we’re all trying to do the best we can. We’re all trying to do the best for our families. Homeschooling is not a ‘one size fits all’ venture. Each family is different. Each child is different. So if you feel as though you’re also a scatterbrained homeschooler, know that you are not alone.
